About

Artist, Educator & Pastor

J. Windsor, born in Jacksonville, Florida, is the son of a military family and began singing at the age of three. His love for ministry and music began while residing in Norfolk, Virginia. Under the leadership of the Late Pastor, Dr. Raymond Dean, J. Windsor would often imitate his then Pastor’s sermons and attempt to play the piano similar to their lead musician, Minister Ronald Christmas. It was during this season J. Windsor’s ministry was birthed.  While in High School, J. Windsor was involved in his local community and church choirs. He continued to develop his love for ministry and music by becoming a musician for several churches and conducting gospel music workshops. At the age of 18, J. Windsor accepted his calling into the preached ministry. He would later become a licensed and ordained minister of the gospel.

While attending Tuskegee University, J. Windsor became the Minister of Music for Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. J. Windsor’s love and passion for ministry and music led him to leave Tuskegee to pursue music ministry full-time.

Soon thereafter, he was invited to minister on an East Coast Evangelical Tour with Evangelist David Young. J. Windsor toured for several months. During his time on the road, he began developing his songwriting abilities.

In September of 1996, J. Windsor stepped out on faith and relocated to Long Island, NY. J. Windsor united with St. Paul Community Church. During his tenure there, he served as  Youth Pastor and Worship Leader.

In June 2004, J. Windsor relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. November of the same year, he joined New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where he would serve in the Worship & Arts Ministry. During his time there, he met his now mentor and fraternity brother Gospel Recording Artist Byron Cage. Minister Cage provided an opportunity to J. Windsor to perform at an Easter Service for New Birth at the Georgia Dome in 2007 which launched an amazing season of ministry.

Shortly after, J. Windsor began traveling nationally and internationally with Minister Byron Cage. J. Windsor facilitated an international musical workshop with him in Paris in 2009. He recorded two albums: Faithful to Believe in Detroit, Michigan featuring Karen Clark Sheard, Marvin Winans, Tye Tribbet, and Pastor Charles Jenkins, and Memoirs of a Worshipper featuring Fred Hammond recorded in Chicago, Illinois. J. Windsor worked with Gospel Recording Artist Dwayne Woods, vocal arranger on both albums.

In 2018, J. Windsor released his debut album entitled “ Transparency of Worship” which yielded many nominations including a Dove Award Nomination as New Artist of the Year and Winner of Contemporary Male Artist of the Year from the Gospel Choice Awards. His hit single “He that Dwells” written and arranged by J. Windsor has transformed the lives of many.

J. Windsor is a proud husband and father. He’s also a High School Educator in the Atlanta, Georgia area and serves as the Senior Pastor of Nazareth Baptist Church located in Columbus, Georgia. J.
